Hello Beauties!
So I was planning on waiting a bit before I posted another review on Disney princess themed makeup but... ;)
I got a few new drug store makeup items by ELF that are Disney themed and I HAD to show you guys. (You know my weakness.) I didn't get all of the items from the Disney collections, they also had nail kits and lashes to choose from.
The first thing I got was the ELF Princess Jasmine ultimate face pallet. This retails for $8
This pallet contains two blushes, two bronzers, and nine lip colors.
I like the format of the pallet, and the idea of having a lot in one place. I like the texture of the blushes and bronzes, except I think the colors were too light for my complexion. The fact that Jasmine was an Arab princess means she most likely has a dark skin tone, and the colors being so light confused me. Also the light pink blush was a little chalky looking.
The lip colors were alright. There weren't intensely pigmented, and had a gloss-like texture instead of the lipstick texture and I hoped for. This would be a good pallet for someone just starting out in makeup who wants to build a collection.
The next pallet was the Jasmine Beauty Book. This retailed for $10.
The packaging on this book is absolutely beautiful! The book also comes with a mirror shaped like
A lotus flower, and a makeup diagram guide.
I was incredibly impressed with this pallet. The eye shadows were all very pigmented, and had a variety of finishes. They also had a nice range which went well with the Aladdin theme. Though it didn't come off on camera that way, ABU is a light peach with a satin finish shimmer. RAJAH is a true peachy-coral color with a matte finish. LAGO is a true bronze color with gold shimmer and a shimmery over spray. JASMINE is a gorgeous mint color in a satin finish, and GENIE is a matte dark blue with green undertones (like a sea green). ALADDIN is probably the least pigmented color, but still shows up nicely. It is a lilac purple color with turquoise glitter in it and an over spray. JAFAR is a taupe grey color with mint green glitter and an over spray.
The blush and bronzer were a lot more suitable for my skin tone, and were as good quality as the ones in the first pallet. The blush ROYAL PALACE was a brownish pink with gold glitter in it. The bronze FORBIDDEN TREASURE was a nice light brown with a golden undertone. The eye shadow and blush brushes are difficult to work with, I recommend using your own brushes.
The eyeliner and lip gloss were surprisingly good. The black pencil eyeliner was creamy and dark, and didn't skip or smudge. The lip gloss was a pretty berry pink color and are consistent with elf standard glosses.
The last pallet I got was the Good vs. Evil pallet based off of sleeping beauty and malificent. I found this surprising because a year or two ago ELF released a malificent pallet. This pallet has a rose shaped mirror and is split in half with the themes of 'Day Beauty' and 'Night Villain'. This pallet also came with the instructions to create a good and evil look. It retails for $10.
The Day Beauty eye shadow colors are all neutrals with varying finishes. SUNLIGHT is a matte cream color. INNOCENCE is a shimmery Champaign color and BRIAR ROSE ins a shimmery light pink. SUNBEAM is a deep gold color. FOREST BEAUTY is a taupe brown with a bluish reflective shimmer, and is a Demi-matte. WOODLAND is a deep chocolate brown demi-matte.
The night villain half contains no neutrals, and all bold colors. SORCERY is a light shimmery silver color. MAGIC SPELL is a beautiful shimmery turquoise with green glitter. EVIL FAIRY is a matte purple and the least pigmented one of this pallet. HEDGE OF THORNS is a dark grey with a taupe undertone and is matte. GREEN FLAMES is a beautiful forest green that is highly pigmented and has small green sparkles. BLACK MAGIC is a dark black with turquoise glitter and a demi-matte finish.
This pallet also came with two lip glosses and a full size black eyeliner. The lip glosses are both nicely pigmented and creamy. There is a red gloss TREU LOVES KISS, and a berry pink gloss BETRAYAL. The pink gloss looks identical to the pink gloss in the Jasmine beauty book. The eyeliner is also a large version of the small eyeliner in Jasmine beauty book, and similarly as good.
Over all these are excellent pallets, and a great value. I would highly recommend them, and they will be fun for any Disney lover. They offer a nice variety of products, and are a good display of the quality of ELF cosmetics' products.
If you want me to do any more Disney themed makeup reviews (and you know I will :)), or any other reviews in the future, please leave a comment below or on my Instagram @thebeautycorner704.
Best Wishes,
